Well that is it for the 2012 NHL season.
The LA Kings are your new Stanley Cup Champions.
I can’t say that I am happy to see them win, but at least now we can move on to next season and hopefully a much more productive one for the Minnesota Wild. On the bright side, one of the skaters for the Kings is from my hometown, which means I might get the chance to see the Stanley Cup when he brings it home for his “Day with the Cup.”
This off season will be a very interesting one with the Wild looking to pick up some more talent on both the defensive and offensive sides of the ice. It has been reported that the Wild are interested in both Devils forward Zach Parise and Nashville defensemen Ryan Suter. If they Wild could sign both they would be well on their way to becoming a Cup contender or at least make the playoffs again.
But both those players are most likely going to want to stay with their current teams and there are tons of other teams who would want to get their hands on the talent that those two skaters could bring to any team. So we will just have to wait and see what transpires the rest of this summer and early next fall.
All I can say is that things have to get better for the Wild next season, because honestly, I don’t see how they could get much worse without something really, really bad happening.
Well that’s it for now,
